| 4. | MAIN DEBATE - 'THE FUTURE OF COUNCIL HOMES IN STEVENAGE' | |
| The Executive, at its meeting to be held on 21st June 2005, will consider the attached officer report on the Housing Options appraisal undertaken regarding the future of Council Homes in Stevenage. The attached officer report contains the following recommendations to Council (which may be subject to change by the Executive on 21st June 2005):- '(1) That it be acknowledged that the Council does not have enough funds to meet the Government's Decent Homes Standard by 2010. (2) That, subject to (3) below, an Arms Length Management Organisation(ALMO) be established to manage and maintain the Council's Housing stock, and a submission be made to GO-East and the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister(ODPM) to this effect. (3) That the proposal for the ALMO option in the Council's submission be subject to the Government negating the adverse effect of the minimum revenue provision formula on the Council's General Fund. (4) That the Housing Strategy Group be thanked for their work. (5) That the staffing implications of the proposal are the subject of formal consultation with the unions as appropriate.' | ||

| 10. | MATTER FROM THE GENERAL PURPOSES COMMITTEE FOR DECISION BY COUNCIL - TAXI DE-LIMITING AND WAITING LIST POLICY | |
| The General Purposes Committee, at its meeting to be held on 21st June 2005, will consider the attached officer report on Taxi De-limiting and Waiting List Policy. The attached officer report contains the following recommendations to Council (which will be subject to change by the General Purposes Committee on 21st June 2005):- '(1) That the number of Hackney Carriages in the Borough be de-limited by a process of managed growth over the next four years, as detailed in Paragraph 4.5.3 of the report. (2) That new plates be issued on a first come first served basis for wheelchair accessible vehicles only, subject to the requirement that any offer of a plate within the transition period being taken up within three calendar months of the offer being made.' | ||
