APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE AND DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST

Decision:

There were no apologies for absence.

 

Councillor Sharon Taylor declared an interest in item 11 – Regeneration Programme as a Member of the LEP Board.

To approve as a correct record the Minutes of the Housing Development Executive Committee held on Tuesday, 5 September 2017.

Decision:

It was RESOLVED that the Minutes of the meeting of the Housing Development Executive Committee held on 5 September 2017, be approved as a correct record and signed by the Chair.

To note the Terms of Reference for the Housing Development and Regeneration Executive Committee.

Decision:

It was RESOLVED that the Terms of Reference for the Housing Development and Regeneration Executive Committee be noted.

COUNCIL HOUSING DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME UPDATE pdf icon PDF 60 KB

To consider a short report updating Members on the Housing Development Programme, which will be supplemented by a presentation at the meeting.

Decision:

The Assistant Director Housing Development and the Housing Development Manager updated the Committee regarding Housing Development progress throughout the town. 

Members were given updates on the following matters:

·         Burwell Court;

·         Ditchmore Lane;

·         Gresley Way/Ferrier Road;

·         Wedgewood Way;

·         Kenilworth;

·         North Road;

·         Shephall Way; and

·         Symonds Green.

 

It was RESOLVED that the update be noted.

5.

URGENT PART I BUSINESS

To consider any Part I business accepted by the Chair as urgent.

Decision:

None.

6.

EXCLUSION OF PRESS AND PUBLIC

To consider the following motions –

 

1.         That under Section 100(A) of the Local Government Act 1972, the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the following items of business on the grounds that they involve the likely disclosure of exempt information as described in paragraphs1 – 7 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act as amended by Local Government (Access to Information) (Variation) Order 2006.

 

2.         That Members consider the reasons for the following reports being in Part II and determine whether or not maintaining the exemption from disclosure of the information contained therein outweighs the public interest in disclosure.

Decision:

It was RESOLVED:

 

1.  That under Section 100(A) of the Local Government Act 1972, the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the following items of business on the grounds that they involve the likely disclosure of exempt information as described in paragraphs 1-7 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act, as amended by SI 2006 No. 88.

 

2.  That having considered the reasons for the following items being in Part II it be determined that maintaining the exemption from disclosure of the information contained therein outweighs the public interest in disclosure.

PART II MINUTES - 5 SEPTEMBER 2017

To approve as a correct record the Part II Minutes of the Housing Development Executive Committee held on Tuesday, 5 September 2017.

Decision:

It was RESOLVED that the Part II Minutes of the meeting of the Housing Development Executive Committee held on 5 September 2017, are approved as a correct record to be signed by the Chair.

8.

HOUSING DEVELOPMENT - KEY SCHEME DECISIONS AND APPROACHING EXECUTIVE REPORTS

To consider an oral update, supplemented by a presentation, on Housing Development Key Scheme Decisions and approaching Executive reports.

Decision:

The Committee received an oral update and presentation on Housing Development Key Scheme Decisions and the approaching Executive reports.

 

It was RESOLVED that:

 

(i)            The presentation be noted;

(ii)          That the Housing Development Team be thanked for their work in progressing the housing schemes referred to in the presentation;

(iii)         That the implications of climate change and the work being undertaken in this area be considered at the next meeting of this Committee.

9.

HOUSING DEVELOPMENT - MARKET TRENDS AND INDUSTRY ANALYSIS

To consider an oral update, supplemented by a presentation, on Housing Development market trends and industry analysis.

Decision:

The Committee received an oral update and presentation on Housing Development market trends and industry analysis.

 

It was RESOLVED that the presentation be noted.

10.

HOUSING DEVELOPMENT - FUTURE SCHEMES

To consider an oral update, supplemented by a presentation, on future Housing Development schemes.

Decision:

The Committee received an oral update and a presentation on future Housing Development Schemes.

 

It was RESOLVED that the report be noted.

11.

OVERVIEW OF REGENERATION PROGRAMME

To consider a presentation providing an overview of the Council’s Regeneration Programme.

Decision:

The Committee received a presentation providing an overview of the Council’s Regeneration Programme.

 

Members were pleased to note the progress in this area particularly in respect of Queensway North, Bus Interchange and the Town Square.

 

Members were advised of the timeline of the developments and thanked officers for their continued hard work in progressing the schemes.
