APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE AND DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST

Decision:

Apologies for absence were submitted on behalf of Councillors D Bainbridge, L Chester, J Fraser, J Hanafin and E Harrington.

 

There were no declarations of interest.

 

At this juncture, Councillor McKay was nominated, seconded and elected as vice-chair of the Planning and Development Committee for the Municipal Year 2018/19.

To approve as a correct record the Minutes of the previous meeting held on 4 April 2018.

Decision:

It was RESOLVED that the Minutes of the meeting of the Planning & Development Committee held on 4 April 2018, are approved as a correct record and signed by the Chair.

To consider the demolition of existing rear extension and erection of a two storey rear extension to facilitate creation of 4no. one bed flats.

Decision:

It was RESOLVED that planning permission be granted subject to the conditions as per the recommendations in the report and subject to an additional Condition 10 as follows:

 

 

            On completion, the dwellings shall meet the following criteria, either:

i.              with windows open for ventilation or

ii.            with windows closed and with mechanical purge and background ventilation, sufficient to comply with the current Building Regulations.

UPDATE ON THE LOCAL PLAN AND FUTURE PLANNING POLICY WORK

To receive a presentation updating Members on the Local Plan process and to make Members aware of some key Planning Policy projects.

Decision:

The Planning Policy Manager gave a presentation updating Members on the Local Plan process and advising of key Planning Policy projects.

 

It was RESOLVED that the update be noted.

REVISED STATEMENT OF COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT (SCI) pdf icon PDF 1 MB

To allow Members the opportunity to provide initial comments on the draft document and to provide details of timescales for this work.

Decision:

The Planning Policy Manager presented a revised Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) for initial comments and provided details of the timescales for this work.

 

Members were advised to send any comments directly to the Planning Policy Manager.

 

It was RESOLVED that the report be noted.

Decision:

In response to a question, Officers agreed to send Councillor Gardner details of the illuminated signs at the Peartree Public House, Valley Way.

EXCLUSION OF THE PRESS AND PUBLIC

To consider the following motions that:

 

1.    Under Section 100(A) of the Local Government Act 1972, the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the following item of business on the grounds that it involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as described in paragraphs 1-7 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act as amended by Local Government (Access to information) (Variation) Order 2006.

 

2.    That Members consider the reasons for the following reports (if any)being in Part II and determine whether or not maintaining the exemption from disclosure of the information contained therein outweighs the public interest in disclosure.
