Cabinet received a summary of the issues covered at the most recent meeting of the Community Select Committee. The Committee received the interim report and recommendations of the review into Equalities, Diversity and Inclusion at the Council and were happy to conclude the review which had included input from protected characteristic groups earlier in the year.
The final recommendations would be formally agreed by the Committee and then sent to the Cabinet Portfolio for Equalities for formal response in due course.

Overview and Scrutiny Committee at its September meeting had reviewed and asked questions regarding the decisions of the Cabinet and made some key observations regarding the General Fund Medium Term Financial Strategy and had raised concerns regarding pedestrian safety due to the installation of construction hoardings and following the revocation a taxi rank on Danestrete.
Environment and Economy Select Committee had continued to work on its review of recycling in flat blocks and had also discussed the forthcoming mandated introduction of food waste collections which would significantly help to improve recycling rates.

Environment and Economy Select Committee had considered recycling in flat blocks; the promotion of recycling champions and working with young residents; and consideration of the use of CCTV at Bring Bank sites to deter fly tipping;
The Community Select Committee had received a presentation on the Council’s response to cases of damp and mould in the light of the implementation of Awaab’s Law from 27 October 2025.
