To approve as a correct record the Minutes of the previous meeting of the Committee held on 27 May 2021.

Decision:

It was RESOLVED that the minutes of the Planning and Development Committee meeting held on Thursday 27 May 2021 be approved as a correct record and signed by the Chair.

To consider the proposed temporary fish and chip shop retail unit adjacent to Kenilworth Close with associated services area and temporary extension to existing pavement to allow pedestrian access.

Decision:

It was RESOLVED that planning permission be granted subject to the conditions as per recommendations in the report, and an additional condition relating to parking spaces as follows:

 

  • To restrict the two off street parking spaces for customers only.

To provide Members with a summary of the new arrangements imposed by Government relating to planning use class changes, and change of use from commercial and employment use to residential use, via permitted development rights.

The Planning Policy Manager presented the report on the Review of the Article 4 Directions and Employment Sites in Stevenage. Members expressed views on the report before submission to Executive on Wednesday 14 July 2021.

 

It was RESOLVED that the report be noted.

EXCLUSION OF THE PRESS AND PUBLIC

To consider the following motions:

 

1.      That under Section 100A of the Local Government Act 1972, the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the following item of business on the grounds that it involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as described in Paragraphs 1 - 7 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act as amended by Local Government (Access to information) (Variation) Order 2006.

 

2.      That Members consider the reasons for the following reports (if any)being in Part II and determine whether or not maintaining the exemption from disclosure of the information contained therein outweighs the public interest in disclosure.
