Minutes:
The Council considered a report in respect of the Council’s Renters’ Rights Act 2025 Enforcement Policy.
It was moved by Councillor Rob Broom, and seconded by Councillor Loraine Rossati, that the Recommendations in the report be approved.
In response to concerns from a member regarding staffing capacity, the Portfolio Holder acknowledged that the additional workload associated with the proposals would place increased pressure on the enforcement team. The need for additional resources to support delivery would be monitored closely as demand developed. It was recognised that effective implementation would require sufficient enforcement capacity, and Councillor Broom confirmed a commitment to keeping resource requirements under review.
Upon the motion being put to the vote, it was RESOLVED that the Renters’ Rights Act 2025 Enforcement Policy, attached as Appendix A to the report be adopted.
