9 MANAGEMENT OF ESTATES AND NEIGHBOURHOODS POLICY 2025-2027 pdf icon PDF 170 KB

To consider a draft Management of Estates and Neighbourhoods Policy 2025-2027 related to the on-going management of Housing Services and to ensure that Stevenage Borough Council (SBC) delivers well maintained, safe and attractive places that residents can enjoy and take pride in.

Decision:

Cabinet received a report on the new Management of Estate and Neighbourhoods Policywhich would help the Council achieve its ambition to make neighbourhoods safe, welcoming, and places that residents can truly take pride in.

 

It was noted that the policy would be subject to consultation and that the feedback received would be used to refine the policy to ensure it was transparent, inclusive and truly co-owned before it was formally adopted.

 

Members agreed that the policy was essential to the effective management of housing stock, estates and neighbourhoods and that as a co-operative council Members were committed to working with communities and not just for them.  The concern regarding communal areas and the immediate environment was also supported.

 

It was RESOLVED:

 

1             That the adoption of the draft Management of Estates and Neighbourhoods Policy 2025-2027 (Appendix A), subject to consultation with tenants and leaseholders be approved;

2             That the relevant Strategic Director, after consultation with the relevant Portfolio Holder, be given delegated authority to make minor updates and changes to this policy.
