EXCLUSION OF PRESS AND PUBLIC

Business:

Decision: It was RESOLVED that the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the following item of business on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as described in Paragraph 9 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972.

OFFICER REPORT - PROPOSED RE-LOCATION OF LONDON ROAD DEPOT, HOUSEHOLD WASTE SITE AND RIDGEMOND TRAINING CENTRE

Status: Agreed

Business: Prior to the consideration of this item, Councillor K. Vale declared a personal and prejudicial interest in the matter in view of his role as a Director of Ridgemond Park Training Centre. Accordingly, he withdrew from the meeting for the duration of the item.

The Deputy Mayor announced that the Part II report before Members had not been circulated 5 clear days before the meeting, but that he had accepted it for urgent consideration for the reason stated in the report.

The Deputy Mayor invited the Director of Environmental Services to give a brief introduction to the report.

The Director of Environmental Services explained the reasoning behind the need to re-locate the London Road Depot, Hertfordshire County Council Household Waste Site and Ridgemond Park Training Centre. He further explained the offer the Council had received for the sale of the sites and provided financial details of the potential purchase of alternative sites.

The Director of Environmental Services responded to a number of questions raised by Members on the report.

Decision: It was RESOLVED that the recommendations contained in the report be approved.
