2. DR. JOACHIM GERHARD - PRESENTATION OF FREEDOM OF THE BOROUGH
At the Special Council meeting held on 23 May 2012 Council passed the following resolution -
'That this Council, in pursuance of its powers under Section 249(5) of the Local Government Act, 1972 confer the Honorary Freedom of Stevenage on Dr Joachim Gerhard, in recognition of his eminent services in supporting the tripartite link between Ingelheim, Autun and Stevenage and promoting Civic Links between Stevenage and Ingelheim, Germany, during his term as Oberbürgermeister of that town from 1996 until 2012.' Dr. Gerhard has been invited to the meeting for the formal presentation of this honour to be made by the Mayor.
