2. ROYAL ANGLIAN REGIMENT - PRESENTATION OF FREEDOM OF ENTRY HONOUR
At the Special Council meeting held on 23 May 2012 Council passed the following resolution -
'That the Council confers upon The Royal Anglian Regiment the Honorary Freedom of Entry to the Borough of Stevenage, in recognition of the long and close association between the Borough and the Regiment and to record the confidence, trust and friendship existing between citizens of the Borough and the Regiment, the Council grants to The Royal Anglian Regiment and its successors the right, privilege, honour and distinction of marching through the streets of the Borough of Stevenage on all ceremonial occasions with drums beating, bands playing, colours flying and bayonets fixed.'
The presentation of this honour is to be made by the Mayor. The Royal Anglian Regiment is to be represented by Lieutenant Colonel N A Johnson, Commanding Officer of the 2nd Battalion ('The Poachers').
